On being poor

Why do I have a piece of toilet paper stuck to the side of my nose? Because I have no health insurance, let alone vision insurance, and the nose pad of my aging glasses just broke off. I'm using the toilet paper as a temporary medium between my skin and the prong that remains. I'm not sure how this is going to be addressed. Perhaps there is a warranted I have forgotten about since I bought them.

Lasik is so fast effective and simple that there really is no reason that almost every person who's vision needs correction shouldn't get it, except that it's horrendously and for no particular reason, expensive in the US, and despite it being a noticeable improvement in the quality of a person's life, its still considered unnecessary by medical insurers.

I'm becoming very weary of being of a class of people which does not deserve to be healthy.
