The internet gives me media I poop out thoughts

I took a look at the E3 presentation video of Far Cry 3. You may have heard of it because it intentionally courts controversy, no, I'm not talking about the part where they throw a grenade at a tiger. I was referring to the first few seconds of the video in which you are treated to a first person perspective of being engaged in coitus beneath a writhing woman in some sort of non-specific tribal body paint. There are first person "your" hands and they are all over her boobs which are entirely bare except for some paint over the nipples.

I thought, how crass and manipulative. How telling of the games intended demographic. How pathetic and sad that they thought this would appeal to people, who might buy the game purely for polygonal nudity, and how sadder still that they were probably right.

But then I thought again.

I can watch pornography on the internet for hours, days, weeks, perhaps months (oh, and have I) without ever seeing a naked black woman. This is something pornography seems really freaked out about and I'm so afraid I know why that I don't even want to solicit people's opinions on it. I am far more likely to accidentally run across bestiality porn than I am to see a naked black woman. So, these guys from Ubi made the most technologically sophisticated rendering of a naked woman ever conceived, and it was a black woman putting their white male 18-25 demographic right into an erotic moment with her, and that's ... I don't know. I don't know what it is! But it's something.
