I remember when...

Clearly this memory that just floated to the surface of my brain is an inaccurate construct. It can only be some sort of artifact of faulty brain chemistry. But I seem to remember that when the video game "Gears of War"--which spawned the cover-based 3rd person shooter genre in video games--used to have advertizements on TV which featured Gary Jules' "Mad World." Who thought that was appropriate? All I remember about that game is that Ice T is all "at home on the rails!" as a "thrashball" playing supersoldier joyriding in the crucible of some sort of bombed out old automated smelting plant. And lots of rapid gunfire.

Edit: except that wasn't Ice-T. I've read his name a bunch in relation to the forthcoming sequel, which is apparently the first one his voice will appear in. Even so.
