Dec. 5th, 2006 01:26 pmIs it just me, or is the ironic, playful, and/or subversive art of Banksy not in the same vein as many of the Photoshop Fridays held by something awful dot com? He also draws a lot of anthropomorphic characters in his graffiti art. There's so much art being generated in armature community's like the furry fandom, someone has got to hit it big in the real upper crust fine art way sometime. I would even count Banksy himself as being a part of what the text books will later call the furry movement, not because I suspect him of telneting into virtual fantasies or attending cons, but because a significant portion of his art is anthropomorphic. Or am I being dence to assume that no artist from the furry fandom proper, a self identifying furry, has received real attention from the fine art community (Do they have a website like FA I could check out? Like, you can't register unless you've had a one person gallery show in New York or were shot in the liver by a crazed fan or something?).
