Why I like the X-Men
Jul. 15th, 2006 04:37 pmMy brother downloaded a few issues of "Ultimate X-Men". Ultimate is a new continuity designed to capitalize on the movies, and I think its primary purpose is to sort of replay and summarize the best story arcs while dumbing them down a bit so that marvel can sort of wiggle its eyebrows and cuddle up to the movie industry even more. The sequels man, my god, think of the sequels! But I found this line in one of the first issues, uh, the first issue actually, and I thought it was great:
"There's no denying you've got a beautiful school here, but what kind of principal designs black latex uniforms for his impressionable teenage students?"
I didn't quite understand Cyclops’s explanation for this, something about sentinels thinking that only humans wear latex.
